Zion National Park

Saturday, May 3, 2025 - Wednesday, May 7, 2025 -- $TBD ★

For the person who loves the outdoors, Zion National Park is on almost everyone's bucket list. Especially the quintessential hike in the park, Angel's Landing. On our trip, we will be day-hiking the major established trails open to commercial entities in this popular and colorful park. Colossal monolithic rock faces, spires, windows, natural bridges, canyons and various other rock formations are found almost everywhere in this landscape. While you may have to scramble over rocky terrain at times, mileages are low and rewards are high. Everyone should visit Zion once.

Our trek will visit just about every trail in the park that is open to commercial operators. So unfortunately, destinations like Upper Zion Narrows are unavilable to us (although we will be hiking into the lower portion of the Narrows where it's not so narrow anymore). We'll visit many famous formations such as the Court of the Patriarchs, the Riverside Walk that takes us into the lower part of the Narrow, the Grotto and of course the iconic Angel's Landing. Beautiful canyons and incredible rock formations with visually stunning, unobstructed views are everywhere.

By May, the days are warm. Expect great sunsets and amazing star-gazing. If you prefer a day-hiking only trip that's not overly strenuous, this could be the trip for you. Why not join us for an unforgettable excursion?

Weather

Weather is always an important concern when hiking. Expect daytime hiking temperatures in the 70s and 80s and nighttime temperatures in the 40s and 50s. However, be prepared for the possibility of day temperatures as high as the 90s and as low as freezing, with a small chance of rain and on rare occasion, snow. Here is the historical Zion weather. Bring with lots of sun protection and water containers that add up to 6 liters of capacity.

Difficulty

Our mileage will be kept low and we will be carrying day packs only, so most days will be less strenous than a backpacking trip.

The trails through Zion National Park are often easy to navigate and enjoyable to hike, but not always. There will be some sandy patches, occasional slickrock with dramatic dropoffs and a few places like Angel's Landing where scrambling (using hands and butt) is necessary. It's pure hiking pleasure.

Cost

$TBD per person double occupancy. Here, double occupancy means that you will share a room with another participant during the 1 hotel night. You will also be responsible for transportation to and from Las Vegas (LAS), personal equipment, restaurant meals eaten off the trail and any gratuities for guides.

Covered expenses include 1 hotel night, round-trip transportation from Las Vegas to Zion National Park, 3 days of trail meals, ground transportation, National Park permits, campground fees and awesome guides.

Tipping: In order to keep our prices competitive with (and hopefully favorable to) other outfitters, we shamefully can’t pay our guides as much as we think they deserve. Like most other guiding services, we rely on the generosity of our participants to make up this shortfall by tipping the guides. While tips are not required or expected, if your guides have served you well, please consider a gratuity so they can continue living their extravagant lifestyles of eating powdered meals, sleeping in the dirt and pooping in smelly outhouses and small holes they've dug.
