Thanks for taking the time to tell us about yourself. It's difficult to paint a completely
accurate picture of yourself, but please attempt to do so. We hope this is the beginning of a long and
enjoyable business and personal relationship.
One of the hardest things about becoming a Fitpacking guide is finding an opportunity
since our trips are staffed a year in advance..
We require our prospective guides to join a trip as an unpaid assistant in order
for
us to evaluate you
, and not incidentally for you to evaluate us.
On a trip with say 5 participants and 2 guides, there's there's not much for a 3rd guide
to do. However, sometimes there are
last minute guide cancellations
, so if you are flexible enough to be in the
wilderness for a week on short notice, opportunity is heightened.
Proximity to a destination close to your home is also a factor.
If there's an opportunity on the Florida Trip but
you live in Seattle, we're would normally not transport you to
intern with us. However, if you can transport yourself
we'll talk.
Once you are "in", guiding opportunities are far more plentiful.
